What is Somatic Therapy?

Somatics refers to an approach that explores the connection between the mind and body, emphasizing bodily sensations, movements, and experiences to address emotional or psychological issues. Somatic therapies may assist the individual in releasing stress and trauma stored in the body, rebuild neural pathways, and strengthen relationships and resilience.

Working with Whitney for Somatic Stress Release has been a nourishing experience. She prioritizes safety and curiosity and offers incredible compassion and space holding. Whitney is skilled and intuitive. I appreciate how dynamic she is, from the way she remembers so well my experience and supports me in remembering my true self. To the way that she has a visual, creative, connected and embodied in her mind, heart, and soul as well. I appreciate so much the way Whitney has been able to meet me in my expression through visualization and honors and amplifies the wisdom of my body. She offers a space that opens up potential and illuminates possibility and deep Self-energy emergence and witnessing. I have felt so seen, heard, understood, and met while working with Whitney. Her integrity and her work is something beautiful I’ve been able to experience.

I was grateful to experience a Sound Healing Immersion coupled with a Somatic Stress Release session with Whitney. The incredible event was transformative on my end of life healing journey.

Whitney has been a long time mentor and sponsor to me in substance abuse and recovery. In a culture of shame and stigmatized perception of addiction, I have found Whitney’s values of safety and nonjudgmental aspects as a liberating place in which to heal. Whitney continually implements new facets of knowledge and practice into our sessions, which allows me to keep on a trajectory of wellness.

I highly recommend Whitney, and have been honored to work with her for several years. She embodies safety, serenity, and a plethora of knowledge on releasing long held traumas and belief patterns that have been stored in the mind and body. A few years ago, Whitney witnessed and held the space for me to heal the painful yet loving relationship I had with my mother before she passed away. Whitney has helped me identify the mother-wounded parts of my self that needed to be acknowledged and released
